Ok, I had to make this post because it's one of the funniest things I've seen in a while. You HAVE to click on the picture below after you read the post. My sister-in-law forwarded me this post from slowtwitch.
Here's what the guy said:
"Did the possibilities triathlon in Loma Linda, CA last Sunday. It's reverse order, so when I finish the run im heading out on the bike and my helmet staps are really tight. Im thinking what the hell, but I get it snapped and move on. Today, the race pictures came out online and there I am, comming in from the bike with my helmet on BACKWARDS.
Not one person said a word about it..... "
CLICK ON THE PICTURE for the entire shot, I'm trying to build the suspense.
Then check out the post here, there are additional funny comments:

BTW, I wanted to say that Jake is a tremendously good sport for sharing his story with us. So DON'T give him a hard time. He put a smile on my face and I wanted to share that with others.

Or at least now I can say that this triathlete bikes to work. Today I finally biked to work after over 8 months of thinking about it. I drove 3 different routes and mapped out countless more before I finally took the plunge and biked to work. It was 25 miles and took 1.5 hours. Any Orange County resident can tell you that it's not easy to map out a "good" bike route from Irvine to Fullerton; good meaning able to avoid large freeway on-ramp intersections and busy morning commute streets. I didn't ride home today but now that I've done it once I plan to do it a lot more often. I'll probably be biking to and from work this Friday. Yes!
If you look closely in this picture of my bike in front of my office you'll see me. Also you may notice that I didn't drink very much on my ride. For those of you interested I have a generic set of aero bars, a Polar cs100b wireless computer, and I never ride (or run) without my Polar s625x watch. If you have any questions about any of my tri gear just send me a note.

I'm trying to figure out a bike route to work. With the hike in gas prices and my increasingly busy schedule it seems about time to ride to work. However work and home are 20+ miles apart and trying to find a route through the concrete jungle in Orange County is a bit of a challenge. So far I haven't found a safe path. I think I can do it though. Here are the challenges that I'm running into:
- Busy streets with no bike lanes.
- Wide intersections not designed for bikes.
- A lot of stop lights.
- Taking an extra 45mins to get to work.
I've driven a couple routes already without much luck. I think I've found a better route so I'm going to map it out and drive it tonight after work.
I took this picture while riding with the OC Triathlon Club. It wasn't a good idea to pull out my camera and take a picture here because I wasn't focused on the road ahead while heading into an uphill. I almost "ate it" because I didn't realize the uphill until it became hard to pedal (I was in the biggest gear); by that time I had to put the camera away and get my hands on the gears to switch to a lower gear. Lesson learned.
